Navy & Coral Nursery

Well the count down has officially begun in our house to when we get to welcome our sweet baby girl.  Her sisters are super excited and talk about getting to hold her and give her lots of kisses and they are super curious about what she will look like.  Anabella has green eyes like mommy and Olivia has blue eyes like daddy, and then they talk about her hair too...it brings a sappy grin to my face just writing it!

We have been working on her nursery for some time now and it was finally completed last week with all the finishing touches.  A lot of love went into this room and I even got my sweet grandma to sew some curtains and a crib skirt since this momma can't sew!!  I have shared a few pictures on Instagram, but wanted to give you all a complete room reveal...so prepare for lots of pictures!!!

Let's start with the view you see when you walk in the room, shall we!!

I didn't notice until after I took the picture, but have to hide those pesky cords from the lamp and stereo.  The navy pouf was actually the first purchase I made for the nursery, which I am still so in love with.  I purchased it at Target when they had it on sale and then had a coupon for $10 off your home purchase...SCORE!!  You might notice the dresser has found its resting place in the nursery and I have placed a changing pad on top with the necessary diaper genie close by!!  Why don't we continue our little 360 tour and I will try to let most of the pictures just speak for themselves! :)

The room is painted in Behr Ivory Mist (satin) and we love how it has really opened up this room.  It is a very neutral wall and I will say it has taken some getting used to for me, but I am loving the overall look of the room.  The curtains are actually two curtains sewn together (by my grandmother), which were both purchased at Target.

I found this bucket out in the garage, which it used to actually be outside.  Way back when, its original color was bright red, but I had spray painted it this teal color.  It wasn't really being used outside or in the garage, so I gave it a good cleaning and a fresh coat of spray paint.

We purchased two Ikea Lack shelves and placed those above the dresser.  The canvas painting next to the shelves was painted by my super talented hubby!!

The two pieces of word art I made myself in photoshop and then framed them in frames we had in our pile.  The two boxes were purchased from Target on clearance and were actually a green and light green color.  I spray painted one with Rust-oleum Granite spray paint and the other was painted with Sherwin Williams Naval using my new favorite toy, the critter!!  To give each box a little bit more color, I painted the little inset on the lid Sherwin Williams Gladiola.  This is actually the same color as the bird in the canvas painting and the color used in the closet.

Another clearance find at Target was this vase.  I had my eye on it for some time, but my hubby actually saw it marked down one day so we snagged it right up.

And now for the other corner and crib!

The corner bookshelf is something from my hubby's bachelor days and I can never remember where he purchased it, but thought it was the perfect addition for that corner.  I still need to print a few pictures to put in the frames on this shelf, but we are waiting for our newest addition's arrival!

The picture of the giraffes is actually a gift bag that I framed.  The frame was another one in our pile, but it was originally black so I spray painted it the Rust-oleum granite spray paint (the same one I used on the box).

The picture on the left was a free printable I found on Pinterest and then put a piece of fabric leftover from the crib skirt behind it.  The picture on the left is an up close picture of a frame I found at Hobby Lobby.  It was coral and had gray chevron...it was PERFECT!!!  I wasn't sure what to do with it when I bought it, but knew it was the perfect color for the nursery.  I thought maybe I could put a picture or a printable on it, but not sure how to hang the picture.  I liked the idea that if I used a clothespin then I could change out the picture as the girls got older.  So I took some of my washi tape and put it right on top of the clothespin and then used 3M double sided tape to adhere the clothespin to the frame...INSTANT LOVE!!

The 'E' over her bed I made in photoshop and then framed in a Ribba frame I had to purchase from Ikea.  The frame was originally white, but with the white walls it was washed out, so decided to do a last minute spray paint of the same Rust-oleum Granite spray paint.  The frames on either side also got a coat of spray paint and framed with scrapbook paper I had in my stock.

Let's see a little more of that beautiful crib skirt my lovely grandmother made :)

As you continue around the room you come to the nursery closet, and the corner spot is empty since the closet door swings into that area.  We left the wall blank as well, but plan for some artwork or photography to hang in that spot at a later date.  On a little spot on the other side of the door, we hung up some bookshelves for books.  They are actually the $3.99 spice racks from Ikea and I spray painted them with Sherwin Williams Naval using the critter.

The only thing left to show you is another peek inside the closet.  I added more clothes in there with labels so we know what sizes are what as well as TONS of diapers.

One day I was shopping for a card at Target and saw these adorable gift boxes...for a $1.28 I could not pass them up.  I originally thought I would recover them with wrapping paper or something, but I really love them as is in the closet.  So I punched out some chalkboard labels and called them done.

The closet dividers were purchased at The Container Store and I would have totally used them on the girls' closet as well, but their closet rod is slightly larger.  I found a printable design on Pinterest that fit these dividers perfectly.  I did have to use my silhouette to first trace an outline of the design and then have the silhouette cutout the outline.  I went with chalkboard vinyl again so I can easily just wipe off the sizes and re-use.

So what do you guys and gals think??  Anybody been re-doing a room lately??  I would love to re-do my master bedroom, but that will come in time :)

With our newest arrival right around the corner...literally, I will be out of pocket for a while, but will be back soon.  I have a few little projects I have been working on that I would love to share with you all soon!

With much love,

Kristin
